Disney DVD, Bluray, Etc

Samsung BlurayWe have received a bunch of questions regarding our followers in buying Disney Dvd’s or Bluray and does it really matter in quality, is it worth the extra, etc. Since we carry the full line of Disney DVD’s and Bluray’s in our Amazon section of the site, I will promote both. In the recent years Disney has opened up Pandoras box in a wonderful colorful world. Disney is going to remake many of it’s original pictures in full Bluray quality. Now, don’t get too fearful of the word “remake” it doesnt mean a new version, just a new digitally enhanced copy with great audio and clarity on the screen. With todays demands on High Def and 1080p, Disney has to think of something to keep up!

I think you will notice a major difference if you put in a Beauty and the Beast Bluray vs. the old DVD’s you might already own. The problem many of our readers are facing is “Do I buy it again on Bluray, when I already have it on VHS or DVD.” This is a very good question. The answer is based more on the movie buff or Disney Fan. I, Myself, have decided to purchase the ones I would watch over and over again on Bluray, and have kept some of the ones on DVD alone. Many of the new Pixar movies will benefit from a High Def setup, but it not a huge difference in animation, the way it completely changed our lives with live movies or TV.

Monsters Inc.Movies such as Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. have huge gains by Bluray since their color maps are highly evolved. Movies such as Snow White or Pinocchio can benefit because they are getting a new face-lift! Most of the movies from the last 10 years do not see huge gains, especially since most DVD’s can be upconverted with a Bluray player anyway. I would not waste the money on upgrading your DVD collection to Bluray with movies like Cars, The Incredibles, Aladdin or others that have been recently put onto DVD in the past years.

I would, however, begin to purchase the new Disney and Pixar movies in the Bluray format if you can afford it. Provided you have the right TV and equipment setup. Nothing is worse than spending $30 on a new Bluray to watch it on a TV that does not take advantage of the magical world of clarity from a true 1080p picture. Do some research online if you wish and when your ready, remember we carry the Bluray and DVD lines of Disney Movies with savings from Amazon right here on our site.
